Part 3 of 4: IBM Throws Real Weight Behind Flash

In our field interviews, Objective Analysis finds that most enterprises adopt SSDs to solve a pressing I/O crisis, and only later are delighted to learn about all the other ways the technology has reduced their cost, space, and cooling requirements. It appears that IBM will direct some of the company‘s significant resources toward proving to prospective users that these other benefits are real and are worth pursuing, even if these users don‘t necessarily suffer from an I/O bottleneck.
