Verizon Chooses AMD SeaMicro SM15000 for New Cloud Services
AMD announced that Verizon is deploying the company’s SeaMicro SM15000 servers for its new global cloud platform and cloud-based object storage service, whose public beta was announced last week. To enable Verizon’s next generation solution, AMD and Verizon co-developed additional hardware and software technologies on the SM15000 to reserve, allocate and guarantee application SLAs.
Verizon’s adoption of the SeaMicro SM15000 is a major win for AMD and its evolving strategy.
