Michael Dell: The Pleasure of Being Private P2of2
Ahead of Dell World last week, I had a chance to chat with Michael Dell and ask the questions that had been bothering me since he took his namesake company private. Dell’s competitors had been making a lot of noise about how the company’s new debt interest payments would make the move economically crippling, and while I doubted Michael would be so foolish, it was a question worth asking.
I also wanted to find out how customers were reacting (they loved the change, finding the new Dell far more responsive and focused on their needs) and how the company had changed now that it was private. Well, and a few other things, like how Michael likes his new Tesla S. Here’s what I found out.
