Problems In Older Hearing Aid Models Digital Ones Were Able To Solve

Since it was invented back in 1989, hearing aid devices have provided individuals with hearing problems and impairment a chance to be able to function normally in our society. Though undeniably helpful, it does not come without any problems. Individuals had to adjust drastically in life with hearing aid devices, and despite this there are still problems encountered with the use of such devices.

As technology advances, hearing aid devices evolved from the once manual and bulky apparatus to the modern, portable, and comfortable digital models, like Hearing Hero. This digitalization has addressed some of the problems people have encountered with older models. Here are a few of the problems in older models that digital hearing aids were able to eliminate and address:

Excessive background noise

Hearing aid devices in general amplifies external sounds towards the ear so that the person with hearing impairment will be able to hear things more clearly. The problem was, it doesn’t just amplify the things the individuals wants to listen to, it also amplifies background noises that most would not want to hear. Digital models of hearing aid devices are now able to isolate background noise from the once the individuals will want to listen to, and is able to minimize or completely eliminate ambient sound. This results in a more focused, more clear, and targeted amplification for the person with hearing disability.

Portability and comfort

Earlier versions and models of hearing aid devices are quite bulky and large that it becomes uncomfortable to use especially in longer hours. As technology advances, so does the power of hearing aid devices, and with it changes in the form factor of the device. Newer models now boast of smaller and lighter footprint which provides endless comfort for the user. Some even claim that users will eventually forget that they’re wearing one as time goes by.
