IBM’s Advantages at Enterprise 2013 (P2of3)

IBM events are unique in that much of the on-stage content isn’t about new products; it is more like a revival meeting than a normal church service in that regard. In most church services, the minister, priest, rabbi etc. gets up and offers a homily or preaches the gospel. In a revival, most of the content consists of people testifying, which is far more exciting and, to my eye, more effective as a result.

IBM events are like revival meetings in that customer after customer gets up and testifies that they couldn’t have done their job, which always is large scale and mission critical, without IBM’s help. Getting customers to go on stage and pitch your products is incredibly hard to do and can’t be accomplished if you didn’t do a fantastic job for them.
